Created during the pandemic, Milenna's newest body of work, entitled 'Memoir', is exactly what its title suggests: a collection of memories written in brush strokes and colors. The paintings investigate loneliness, isolation and self discovering. In this series the artist continues exploring the deconstruction of figurative painting, but now revealing on the paintings each step of its creation. Each one of them is created on top of an older artwork, but instead of hiding the original layers, the artist purposely scrapes the surfaces so they can sip through the new images and construct the new compositions. Milenna is now returning to her roots by including figurative drawing into her new paintings. Leaving parts of the images in its raw stages and parts filled with her trade mark vibrant colors, Milenna is creating a journal of her painting process and the people she's portraying.

Criada durante a pandemia, a mais nova série de pinturas de Milenna Saraiva, intitulada 'Memoir', é exatamente o que seu nome revela: uma coleção de memórias escritas em pinceladas. As obras investigam a solidão, isolamento e auto descobrimento. Nesta série a artista continua sua exploração da desconstrução da pintura figurativa, revelando nas telas todas as partes do seu processo de criação. Cada obra desta série é feita sobre telas de obras antigas. Seus vestígios e camadas podem ser vistos através de frestas, partes lixadas, criadas propositalmente pela artista. Milenna quis voltar às suas raízes clássicas e incluir o desenho, que sempre fica encoberto, na obra. As cores marcantes e traços característicos continuam presentes nos rostos das pessoas retratadas. Cada retrato revela uma história.
